Cala d’Or is one of the most beautiful places of the South-East coast of Mallorca. In the 1930s it became the first tourist development on the island. Its architecture is one of the most remarkable characteristics of the area and it has maintained up to the present day. The constructions are mostly white low-rise houses and flat roofs.
It is organized in three urban centres. The central area is the oldest part and the origin of the town. It also gives an excellent commercial offer, its pedestrian area invites to have a walk in the soft summer nights and its two great natural sandy beaches, Cala Gran and Cala d'Or, make it the perfect area for a holiday.
It is a five-kilometre coast stretch. Beaches, located at the end of very long bays, are protected from waves and currents.
A sandy bottom of gentle slope ensures absolute relaxation, in these magical bays, each of which with its own charm and character.

The marina of Cala d'Or
It is located in the natural port of Cala Llonga. Since ancient times, it has been used as a port of refuge. The special configuration of its entrance protects the boats of winds and waves.
The current marina was built in 1970, and it was the first sports marina built in Spain. Currently is the third most important port in the Balearic Islands. It offers nautical services and a large shopping area.
Es Fortí of Cala Llonga
It is a fortress of defence built in 1740 against the pirate attacks. The panoramic views from its height are spectacular.
Mallorca has ideal conditions for the practice of all kind of sports and active tourism activities.
Tennis club Cala d'Or
It has 5 beaten-earth courts. You can play tennis at night when it is less hot. Its courts are illuminated.
Vall d’Or golf club
It is the closest golf course to Cala d'Or. It has 18 holes with excellent views of the sea and it is 5 minutes driving from Cala d'Or.
35 kilometres of coastline with a total of 19 beaches accessible by land and sea are, without a doubt, the best place to enjoy your holidays. It is the ideal place to practice cycling. A quiet transport that allows enjoying the environment and the landscapes that are crossed.
Natural park of Mondragó
A natural jewel. Virgin nature unfolds all its glory. It is a protected area of 785 hectares that offers to visitors a mosaic of landscapes of great diversity and bays of incomparable beauty: s'Amarador and Sa Font de n'Alis.
Cabo de Ses Salines
It is the most southerly extreme of the island, about 150 km away from the African coast.
Cala d'Or Markets:
There are two markets: one in the old centre and the other in Cala Egos. Both of them are very popular, and there can be found from crafts to local products. They are seasonal markets, held in the evening (18:00h-23:00h).
Santanyí Market:
It is held outdoors in the main square of the village, throughout the year, (Wednesdays and Saturdays morning). It has become a reference, and many people from nearby towns come to visit it. It has become a tourist attraction over the town.
Other markets very popular and appreciated:
Felanitx on Sundays, Sineu on Wednesday, Inca on Thursdays.
Porto Petro and Cala Figuera
They have the charm of the fishing villages. They are two quiet local ports that even today maintain the family activity. They offer traditional cuisine in their restaurants, product of the fishing and farming activity in the area, which is very rich and varied.
There is a wide variety
There are sea excursions, by sailboat, high-speed motor boats, glass-bottomed boat, catamaran, etc. There are also excursions by bus, landscape, cultural, shopping, night, walking, by bicycle, on boats that run along the coast, by car, or organised excursions, even to aquatic parks or sea life.
